Poem of the Month

I Wished To The Moon

I wished to the moon,
I wished to the stars.
In the darkness of night
when the soft summer breeze
gently caressed my face,
and the grasses tall and seedful
in the nearby brake
rustled their age old secrets,
trying to tell me
that the moon, the stars,
the night's velvet background
and the breeze were all of a family
and that if I wished I could join it.
But there was one condition
I would have to join with love,
this I replied in thought alone,
was what I had wanted.
